Deanna Brasile, D.O.
The newest member of the team, I started working as a physician with the Cooper
Institute in July, 2004. Prior to my arrival, I trained at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden, NJ. During this time, I specialized in obstetrics and gynecology, but I have had an interest in infertility since my earlier days in medical school.
I was born and raised in Erie, PA, and then went south for college, where I attended Duke University in Durham, N.C. To this day, I remain an avid college basketball fan, and March madness is my favorite time of year! I then matriculated at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, during which time I met Dr. Check, who became my mentor and friend. After completion of medical school at PCOM, I spent a year in internal medicine training, which I believe has helped me to be a more thorough and knowledgeable
OB/GYN. My subsequent OB/GYN training at Cooper was intensive and yet a wonderful experience. During this training, I spent additional time with Dr. Check and the Cooper
Institute staff, and did my senior research with Dr. Check on depression and its effects on infertility treatment.
Upon joining the Cooper
Institute for Reproductive and Hormonal Disorders, I was thoroughly trained in egg retrievals and embryo transfers by Dr. Choe. I feel that both Dr. Choe and Dr. Check have been wonderful teachers and mentors, and that I have been trained by the best! I also enjoy seeing pregnant patients as well as routine gynecology patients, and I am able to perform a vast array of gynecological procedures and surgeries unrelated to infertility treatment. However, nothing is more satisfying to me than helping a loving couple or individual start a family. I believe my job to be far more than just a career, but an inherent, passionate, and vital part of my existence as a human being. I realize compassion is just as important as competence, and that being able to hold someone's hand is as valuable as being able to perform a procedure on them.
