This
presentation is offered by the Cooper Center for IVF on a bi-monthly
basis. An introduction to the process of In-Vitro Fertilization
is presented utilizing slides, by Sharon Perkins, R.N. This presentation
provides an overview of the entire IVF process. You will have an
opportunity to meet with the staff and to ask questions on an individual
basis. This presentation usually is approximately two hours in duration.

History and definition of In-Vitro Fertilization

Pre-Testing requirements

Discussion of medications (Pergonal, Humegon, Fertinex, Metrodin)
associated risks and side effects of these drugs such as Ovarian
Hyperstimulation Syndrome.

Explanation of the actual IVF retrieval and embryo transfer procedure
and the associated risks. We discuss what to expect during these
procedures.

Discussion of the ICSI procedure, Assisted Hatching and their
associated indications and risks.

Discussion of our pregnancy statistics, which include percentage
of multiple births, miscarriages and ectopics.

Discussion of Frozen Embryo transfers, including a brief explanation
of necessary preparation and statistical rates of pregnancy.

Overview of the IVF consent forms including Control and Disposition
of Frozen Embryos.
